How Do Dental & Maxillo-facial Injuries Happen?

Dental & Maxillo-facial injuries are defined as trauma of teeth or gums, to extreme severe injuries of the skin and bones of the face, facial bone fractures, jawbone fractures, facial nerves or the salivary glands. Such injuries may be caused by motor vehicle accidents, accidental falls, sports injuries, interpersonal violence, and work-related injuries. Proper management of Dental & Maxillo-facial injuries require a team of specialists well versed in emergency care, acute treatment, long-term reconstruction, and rehabilitation of the client.
